If you are not an active SMPS member of the Sacramento Chapter, all job postings will cost $50.00 each for a month long posting.

Marketing Coordinator

Dreyfuss & Blackford Architects, one of the largest, oldest and most prestigious Architectural firms in Northern California, seeks a creative and imaginative marketing coordinator to head our proposal-writing and procurement functions, bringing our marketing into the 21st century. This is a broad opportunity for a well-organized, self-starting professional – we reward creative input and innovative thinking.
Job Description
The marketing coordinator will touch all aspects of our visual and graphic communication with prospective clients. Over the past five years we have developed a set of cohesive and coordinated graphic tools for timely and effective marketing. There is always room for improvement, and all input and suggestions are welcomed; this is an open and creative environment. Marketing tasks include the following:

  • Write and produce proposals – working directly with our Marketing Principal, create, edit, collate and publish technical responses to RFP’s, SOQ’s and RFQ’s for a range of public and private sector prospective clients. Knowledge and understanding of Federal SF330 forms is a plus, as is prior experience in preparing similar competitive responses.
  • Produce one-off company brochures – similar to proposals, develop and maintain library of graphic components for company brochures (resumes, project descriptions, work plans, etc) that can be quickly edited, collated and printed for targeted promotional brochures; 20-100 pages, full color
  • Targeted marketing research and investigation – daily search via targeted web sites, search engines and professional services for project opportunities for the firm, as well as consultant teaming opportunities.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Design & production of periodic targeted mailers (primarily postcard)
  • Desktop publishing & web-based publishing
  • Design & layout for Powerpoint & related visual presentations
  • Manage photo library – database, photoshop editing, etc.
  • Work closely with Marketing Principal, Graphic Designer and Communications Director
  • Project management of all written proposal responses – moderately technical documents within very tight deadlines, requiring coordination with multiple consulting team members.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, focus in communications, journalism, graphic design
  • 2-3 years work experience in marketing-related professional work
  • Strong proficiency with Adobe Suite graphic programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat)
  • Strong skills with desktop publishing –various platforms (principally PC based)
  • HTML editing, web maintenance and Flash experience a plus
  • Excellent verbal, written & graphic communication skills
  • Must be organized, self-starting, detail-oriented & skilled at creative problem-solving
  • Motivated and goal-oriented

Compensation

  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Established network of community contacts from related industry associations, downtown developers, etc.
  • Ability to work as a team player on a variety of projects simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
