The Sacramento Chapter provides professional services marketers the valuable opportunity to learn about issues related specifically to architecture, engineering, and construction in California ’s capital city and in the surrounding Northern California communities. In addition to gaining valuable industry information and successful marketing tips from monthly lunch meetings, SMPS members have the opportunity to meet individuals from local firms, expand their network, promote their firm and possibly team on upcoming projects as well as share information about their daily responsibilities as marketing professionals. Marketers, owners and consultants are common attendees at the monthly luncheons and they represent a variety of disciplines in the industry including, but not limited to; architects, engineers, general contractors, environmental consultants, construction management, planning interior design, and landscape consultants.
Lunch presentations are held on the fourth Tuesday of the month at The Sacramento Grand Ballroom, 629 J Street, Sacramento. These events include time for networking as well as in-depth presentations on industry topics by expert professionals from the A/E/C industries, target markets, and local government.
SMPS also provides opportunities for members to gain leadership experience by taking active roles in the organization. Professional development is further advanced through SMPS local and national publications, programs, events, seminars and workshops that provide extensive information as well as opportunities to collaborate with fellow professional service marketers. Most recently, the Sacramento Chapter has taken strides to promote the value of the certification set forth by National.
